Man-of-war

Floating castles, man-of-wars seem to those not used to their massive proportions. Dwarfing the small trade caravels and even their smaller war brethren the frigate, these massive ships can have the ability to carry large numbers of men, sustain extensive punishment, and mount enough siege weaponry to threaten shore fortifications. However their size makes them ungainly in the water; they are unable to chase down caravels unless they are caught unaware, and frigates are able to sail circles around them, like a pack of hounds harassing a bear. However much like when a bear catches a hound, a man-of-war can smash any smaller ship. Their immense expense and cost to upkeep keeps them a rare sight on the waters of Dargarth.
