The Church of Suffering.

"Life is suffering..."

A small cult that worships struggle, hardship and pain, the cult of Lacrima Triste Dolor (Tears, Sadness and Misery) believe that strength, beauty and truth are found through struggle, conflict and loss.

The faith recognizes two types of pain; that which is chosen and that which is forced, and holds that both are capable of creating beauty and transformation. Cultists generally strive promote a mentality of transformative (if sometimes traumatic) growth within the world, and seek to elevate and celebrate the beauty in emotional loss.

Some within the cult hold that the highest form of suffering is that which is chosen for the benefit of others. Good Aligned cultists sometimes take this belief to promote the practice of volunteering to suffer or interceding for others who would otherwise be subject to forced suffering (for they believe that by volunteering for that suffering they might elevate the suffering in the world into something more beautiful and transformative).

Evil aligned Cultists on the other hand tend to take the charge to promote transformative growth as an excuse to inflict pain and suffering on those around them, like a fire that consumes and transforms a landscape.
