Kestrel likes to pretend he is a feared archer, despite the fact that everyone knows he's a mediocre shot. Typically he runs around the field like a chicken with its head cut off, lobbing arrows and trying to keep the shield on his back and sword at his hip from falling off.

Being a half-elf, he had a difficult time fitting in with other groups until he discovered that all Legion cares about is that he doesn't puke violently while on a boat. He is, in fact, one of the founding members of the country.

He wears awesome rising chaos star sleeves in lieu of a tabard. They make everyone jealous.

He has a distinct fondness for hats, and has amassed a small collection of magical headgear that confer the skills necessary to act as a member of any of several classes. You can tell what class he is by what headgear he is wearing. He has yet to find a method that allows him to wear multiple hats at the same time. For that matter, he can't even switch hats in the middle of the day; it's possible he gave up that skill in exchange for the awesome sleeves. The classes he is known to be able to emulate are Ranger, Rogue, and Druid.

Kestrel holds a certain bitterness towards most of the gods for his outcast status in his youth; neither the Elven gods nor the Human gods would readily accept him as a follower. He feels some affiliation towards the nature spirits, however, and will show respect towards any nature shrines he comes across despite professing no specific allegiance to them. He currently follows Mielikki, Goddess of the Hunt, who generally doesn't care what race you are so long as you respect the forest and treat the animals you hunt with the respect they deserve. It's as much an alliance of convenience as anything else.

He is currently the designated steward of the forest hex 2504 and has declared it a wildlife and hunting preserve. Hunting licenses may be acquired by request and all game must be tagged. All proceeds go towards the maintaining of the forest and the upkeep of the small glade that serves as a worship site for Mielikki.

Kestrel is the head Poisons, Potions, and Scrolls marshal, and occasionally acts as one of the many assistant archery marshals.
