He was a crew member on a double hulled voyaging canoe that was caught in an unnatural storm. His captain and crewmates survived the wreck, but after a few hours of swimming as a group, they were attacked by sharks. While more than half of his crewmates were killed, the school of sharks left Nanaue alone. Eventually, Nanaue passed out while floating at sea and he woke up on the extremely cold shore in RagnFjord of Dargarth. Nanaue met with the people of RagnFjord and found similarities between his beliefs and theirs, taking up arms to help his new allies and learn more about their world. Nanaue is lost, as the stars in Dargarth do not look like the stars he grew up using to navigate the seas. He hopes to learn and master the new sky and find a way to sail home. The tiger shark is his ʻaumākua- familial guardian.
