Dungeons are psuedo-random mini-adventure locations available for exploration by adventuring parties. Dungeons are typically populated by powerful monsters, devious traps and magical rewards.

Though balanced for general adventuring parties of 5 or more, some locations or dungeons are significantly more challenging than others. Challenges range from (Easy, Normal, Hard, Epic, Legendary) roughly correlating to levels (1-4, 5-9, 10-13, 14-18, 19-20+).

Each dungeon is created by the land marshal and the magistrate in cooperation with the plot team. They consist of 3 challenges, typically two battles and a skills or ability challenge.

Designing Dungeons

When designing a dungeon, difficulty is determined by the individual difficulty of the highest encounter, typically the climax encounter.

Easy - Encounters below 30 Normal - Encounters 30-60 Hard - Encounters 60-90 Epic - Encounters 90+ Legendary - Legendary monsters
