The Bitter Mountains: How Varador met the Mercenaries.
The Nahvian race is believed to be an extinct cousin to that of Elves, Varador believes that his people still live on somewhere but does not know where to start looking. Varador grew up believing he was half elf, having been raised with elves he never learned what happened to his people. After joining the mercenaries of bitter peak, he discovered the dwarven archives beneath the city. The archives provide a chance for varador to study all the knowledge the dwarves had gained in their many centuries inhabiting the mountain, and in relative peace due to the fact the mercenaries are not exactly known for reading books. To this day varador is still reading and learning the many secrets locked within the archive, including astounding design plans for weapons of war that the land of dargarth has scarcely seen before.
Varador has been known to worship Luna, goddess of the moon. His relationship with this deity is better described as mutual as opposed to an actual worship. Out of all the gods he has heard about, Luna is the only one who commands his respect enough to be considered his deity. When asked, why the moon? he replies. "All things are fleeting and fragile in this world, but when you are entrenched in darkness, Luna is the one who brings light unto the path." Others have wondered then, if the sun is even more consistent then the moon, and several times stronger, why not the sun? his reply was... interesting "I follow a god who bids the oceans move, who remains to help when all other light is resting. Why would I follow a god who burns your eyes if you gaze upon him, or burns your flesh if he gazes upon you? No the sun is a cruel god who has burned the life away of many innocents." He later stated that he knows it is important for such a god as the sun to be worshiped, because gods like those are better sated with prayers then with the souls of the living.
